Project Overview
Armstrong Scaffolding installed a full access scaffold and temporary roof for a loft conversion project in Tonbridge. The structure wrapped around the property, creating a covered working area above the house and providing the site team with the access and protection needed for roof-level construction.
Why a Temporary Roof Was Needed
Loft conversions place most of the work at the highest point of the property. Once the roof is opened, the job benefits from a scaffold setup that provides more than just perimeter access. On this project, the temporary roof provided shelter above the working area, allowing the build to continue in a more controlled environment.
Scaffold Configuration
We erected a scaffold around the house and installed a fully sheeted temporary roof spanning the top of the structure. This gave contractors safe access around the upper elevations while covering the loft conversion works below. The arrangement suited the property's shape and scale, creating a clear, usable layout for the next phase of the build.
Outcome
The finished scaffold provided a practical domestic access solution for a major loft conversion in Tonbridge. With both perimeter access and overhead cover in place, the project had the right scaffold arrangement for roof-level works on a large residential property.
