Project Overview
Armstrong Scaffolding was appointed to design and erect a commercial access scaffold around a large period building in North London so that parapet wall repairs could be carried out at roof level. The scaffold wrapped the front and side elevations and rose to the top of the building, with a boarded working platform running the full length of the parapet.
What the Site Needed
Parapet repairs sit right at the top of the building, above a busy street. The work needed safe, stable access along the entire roofline, not just a single tower or a section of scaffold. It also had to be built over a live pavement, so the public and passing traffic had to be kept clear of the works at all times. That called for a properly engineered commercial scaffold with a protected pavement route beneath it.
What We Installed
We erected a multi-lift commercial access scaffold to the elevations, tied into the structure and finished with debris netting to keep the site clean and safe. A pavement gantry carried the scaffold over the footpath so pedestrians could pass underneath in safety, with guarded, boarded lifts giving the repair team access at every level. At the top, a full-length boarded working platform with edge protection gave safe, level access along the parapet for the repairs.
